Run Toward The Waves

The trip to Parang Tritis is reaching the limit south of Yogyakarta, Kaliurang opposite direction as the northern part of the city limits. The more southerly atmosphere highway increasingly avoid congestion, from different directions seemed vehicle travel sequentially leave the beach. Meanwhile, from the same direction, the vehicle alongside achieve one goal. By late afternoon, the sun gradually extinguished, the distance is starting to look a limestone hill, blue sea and white sand dune that is always moving.

Officers are always prepared to keep the gate, selling tickets, then the vehicle can drive into the parking lot safely. Around the parking lot stalls, bathrooms and souvenir vendors enliven the situation. Strong wind started blowing, forming a natural streaks in the sand - so wind leaves its mark. Blue oceans also stretches so vast, limitless horizons, the waves never stop terrible rumble, like mist mistery break and cause a sense of giddiness. Traveller gentlemen crowded to enjoy the evening, flocked in large groups or with the comrades. The sun slowly slipping in the western sky, sunset red copper, the waves rumbled relentlessly, while the increasingly cold wind blows. The longer the horizon as the sun getting closer to a giant red ball that is ready to disappear at different every night. To the left of the row of rock jutting into the sea remained staunchly unmoved by waves severest blow though.

Twilight in red copper and the waves cause the mystical atmosphere, reminiscent of the presence of the Watcher - Queen of the South or Nyi Roro Kidul. Myth or legend Nyi Roro Kidul is often linked to the existence of Jogjakarta Palace. Reportedly, that all Sultan often communicate with the Queen. One proof communications believed society was  Cepu  heritage on the beach Parangkusumo. The site is believed to be a meeting place Nyi Roro Kidul and Sultan for hundreds of years from generation to generation.

Who actually Nyi Roro Kidul?

In the illustration figure Roro Kidul is often shown in the painting of a woman with long hair, dressed in a green tank top, wearing a crown on his head, and look good in the waves rolling South Coast terrible. There are four mythical origins of the origins of Nyi Roro Kidul circulating in the knowledge society. The first myth says that the Roro derived from the pursuit of Kediri. She was the daughter of King Jenggala, Raden Paji with Dyah Retnaning Angin -  Forest ruler, King Banjaran. Nyi Roro Kidul formerly Queen Pagendongan, after the Queen grew up he asked Sindhula as beloved grandfather grandparent that eternal beauty. Requests that can be realized with the Queen Pagendongan requirements must be fully lelembut. After Queen Pagedongan be lelembut, then Raden Panji provide power to the princess to reign in the South Seas. He also predicted to meet a Javanese ruler, a prediction that has been alluded to in Fiber Darmogandhul.

The second myth among others states, supposedly, in the Majapahit era, in the Forest Mentaok there named Mataram Kingdom ruled by a queen named Lara Kidul Dewi Nawangwulan. Once married to Raden Boda Kejawan --Jaka Tarub-- he gave birth to a daughter named Dewi Nawangsih who became queen of the successor to the rulers of Mataram. The next government continued Dewi Nawangsih daughter named Ni Mas Ratu wind. Dewi Nawanagsih child is believed to be Mrs. Roro Kidul once married to Raden Sutawijaya.

There is also a third version of the myth of Nyi Roro Kidul, Once upon a time, there used to be in the kingdom Pajajaran ugly princess. His skin was scaly and whole body badly unkempt, shame, brother expelled from the palace. The Princess went to the South Seas, due to very deep sadness he threw himself into the sea. South Seas is the daughter cured, until eventually became ruler of the South Sea. One day when the kingdom of Pajajaran held a ceremony at Pelabuhan Ratu, Ratu Kidul rise reported, that she was the daughter of the Kingdom of Pajajaran who had driven from the palace.

The fourth version of Nyi Roro Kidul myth tells that the kingdom Munding fragrance had a very beautiful princess. Her beauty earned him the nickname dubbed the Dewi Srengenge --Dewi Matahari--. But King Munding Wangi not too expect the presence of the Dewi, because he wanted a boy. To get the boy, King then married a princess named Dewi Mutiara.

Dewi Mutiara wanted his son who later became king in Munding Wangi, but the desire was hampered by the presence of the goddess Srengenge. One day Dewi Mutiara Dewi hired a shaman to menyantet Srengenge that his body be itching and scabies. Witchcraft was successful, Dewi Srengenge who initially became princess pretty ugly and smells. King Munding Wangi invited all the royal physician to heal, but the efforts of the doctors deadlocked. The situation was exploited Dewi Mutiara incite the king to expel the daughter of the palace. The King consumed by the incitement, and eventually drive out the Dewi Srengenge heart out of the palace.

In grief being banished as a royal princess Dewi Srengenge walked aimlessly until finally arriving to the South Seas. He was bathing waters of the South, the disease suddenly healed. Dewi Srengenge have recovered from the disease, but he had no intention of returning to the palace, he establishes himself as a resident of the southern Coast until it became ruler of the sea.

There are four versions of the myth of the figure --Nyi Roro Kidul-- that should just have one story to test kebenaranya. But a myth is not to be tested were correct, in this case called the "truth" is that the myth was there and become part of society and the idea system integrated in daily life.

The myth was so strong, so we do not dare to wear green and then play in the surf in Parang Tritis, because anxiety will abject and never recovered. Every year this beach tourist casualties abject, whether dressed in green or not. While the body may be evacuated, but some are disappearing without a trace, swallowed sand Terban.
