"Sorry Mom, I am very sorry to have to say, the
father of HIV-infected blood, asthma disease, head injuries, and his condition
deteriorated, perhaps the pressures of life cause he has AIDS. My husband
checked late mother, no more drugs that can be given unless the wait time. Give
a good impression in the rest of his life, "the doctor's voice was still
soft but Talitha ear those words is like a thunderous boom arms (Linggasari, Sand Castles, 2010, p. 173-174).
The above piece of the story
is that we must consider. What if you were a character in the story? Or do you
not know how the HIV virus is a scourge that threatens the community at large? HIV
/ AIDS is one of the most dangerous diseases so many that it becomes a problem
difficult to solve and is also a threat that could destroy the community,
including the Asmat people. This process begins with an unhealthy sex, such as
sex and use the services of commercial sex workers that cause sexually
transmitted disease (STD). It is consequently not perceived that moment, but
this disease can gradually descend Asmat people without exception and
unconscious. In her research, Linggasari (2007:48) states that sex is sacred to
the behaviour of the Asmat. Furthermore, it is said that a healthy sexual
relationship will make the Asmat people have the power, freshness, vigour, and
courage in war or headhunting. In this stage, says Ces Manais sex or sex that
has a positive value (although in the end, Asmat used to motivate men to kill).
While sex is not healthy, such as infidelity; promiscuity; interpreted as Namir
sex Manawei or negative.
An unfortunate but undeniable
that AIDS can be spread up in isolated rural areas. This suggests that the
determinants of future generations Asmat have received threats. In Tabloid
Asmat government, AMA, stated that in 1998, women-led by Mrs Karola Yacamaot
(Mother Regent) has been forcibly dispersed wild prostitutes who inhabit a
house in Sea Star complex that Asmat people not exposed to this disease not
been able to find a cure. But according to data released by the Institute for
Women's Empowerment AKAT cepes (LPPAC) apparently getting expelled, even
multiply and prostitutes serving men in the region that is the economy of aloes
in the Asmat jungle. The presence of prostitute can provide an easy entry for the
virus.
Various methods Asmat district
governments to provide socialization in written publications through pamphlets
or striker who posted in various places. Counselling dangers of HIV / AIDS in
various groups, including schools. However, socialization counselling agencies
seem like a complete program to the dangers of HIV / AIDS. Frequency extension
dangers of HIV / Aids with low rare indication of activity. What happens is
that in a year, there are only one or two counselling. Data from the Papua Provincial
Health Office said that the number of people living with HIV / IADs of 0 (no
data from District Health Asmat?). So also with the data of the Ministry of
Health which states that there is no report on the number of HIV / AIDS in the
district of Asmat. Contrary to data from the Department of Health, Dr Steven
Langi in a health article in the AMA magazine says that in 2007 there was one
positive people infected with HIV / AIDS. Likewise also said in the book Women
Asmat, Linggasari wrote that there are two people died with an indication of
HIV / AIDS in 1999. In other words, HIV counselling is expected to prevent a
malicious virus is still in big question mark next to the confusion existing
data!

From the data above, we can
see that the student as a person who became the backbone of the nation and the
state was not immune from the threat of HIV / AIDS. Students who are in the age
that is still looking for its identity trying to be accepted in society. For
students that efforts were made to get "cap" of great people. For
example, dating, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and sex. It is ironic when
students, particularly students in the district of Asmat is a determinant of
generation can be exposed to the virus successfully infecting 8611 people in
Papua.
What is HIV?
HIV stands for Human
Immunodeficiency Virus. HIV is a virus that infects cells of the human immune
system and destroys or impairs their function. Infection with this virus
results in decreased immune system constantly, which will result in a
deficiency or a weakened immune system. The immune system is considered
deficient when the system can no longer perform its function to fight infection
and ultimately make human oesophagal diseases. Rare diseases that infect the
human body becomes an easy entry into the human body because it uses a weakened
immune system.
Then after HIV infects the
human body, what happens?
After a successful HIV infects
human body fluids (blood, semen, vaginal fluids, and breast milk), then people
will show symptoms of decline in the immune system, known as AIDS. AIDS stands
for Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome. Describe a variety of symptoms and
AIDS-related infections and the immune system. HIV infection has been ordained
as the cause of AIDS. HIV levels in the body and spread of various specific
infections is an indicator that HIV infection has progressed to AIDS. The
cumulative number of AIDS patients from 1987 until June of 2012 Indonesia
mentions that 32 103 people have been infected with AIDS.
In the midst of the danger
which threatens human HIV Indonesia, including the Asmat people. Appears public
fear of the disease. The fear that causes the public to ignore or isolate
people seem PLWHA (People Living with HIV AIDS). The attitude was reasoned that
if close to us will be infected with HIV. Regrettably, a narrow understanding
of HIV.
HIV is not transmitted
through: sharing eating/drinking, kissing, walking, shaking hands, touching,
mosquito bites, bathroom, sweating, swimming pool / WC, phone, wears a new WC
with AIDS. How is HIV transmitted? HIV is transmitted through penetrative (anal
or vaginal) and oral sex with someone who has HIV; transfusion of HIV infected
blood; the use of contaminated needles interchangeably in health care settings
and through drug injection and through mother-to-child HIV positive, during the
pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding.
The impact of HIV / AIDS have
problems for all people. Including students as part of the community, which
indirectly holds a great responsibility for the continuity of life. It can
sustain the life of the dangers of HIV / AIDS is prevented. How is it done?
1. Abstinence, sex with a
partner legitimate
2. Relationships faithful
uninfected partner
3. The use of male condoms or
female condoms consistently and correctly
4. Do not use interchangeably
syringes or sterile
5. Expand information about HIV / aids from the internet and education
6. Giving children the right
to attend school
7. Maintain the health and
cleanliness of the body
8. Create a cosy atmosphere in
the family
The results of the
questionnaire Variety Information For Efforts to Combat HIV / AIDS: The Case of
the Class XII student Yan Smit Agats Catholic High School School Year 2012-2013
can be described that students obtain information from most of the teachers
followed by extension of the relevant agencies, and from pamphlets or posters
taped in various places. This indicates that education in schools is an
effective means of conveying information about HIV / AIDS. From the level of
understanding of HIV, Catholic High School Class XII student Yan Smit mostly
already aware of HIV. It should be noted carefully, whether it is followed by
the level of understanding of healthy behaviours as well?
HIV / AIDS was in front of our
eyes, we should jointly strive to prevent the spread of the virus found in
Indonesia for the first time in Bali in 1987. HIV / AIDS can not be cured but can
be prevented from coming in later regret. For students who are the backbone of
the nation's generation, it is proper we together shout "Prevent HIV /
AIDS NOW!".
If I have family doctors, maybe we can be friends with
colleagues transform and fight this deadly disease. However, the fate that I
should live to force me to be a piece of junk. No black more of life I
must lead. When it has been infected with HIV, I've corresponded with over
fifty people in a position to determine where the doctor on duty in the city. I
believe, among the fifty people, there would be a catch and then overtake
natural death, leaving behind all loved ones (Linggasari, Sand Castles, 2010,
p. 208)
