"Look at there ...."
Kamur - the capital of Kasuari Pantai district can be
reached about four hours drive from Agats, the capital of Asmat District by
speed boat, along the coast, Araura Sea. Cloudy
weather and breaking waves are a challenge that must be addressed with courage
and buoys to avoid the bad possibilities. The feeling of
tired is unspeakable when it gets to the destination tempst. This
time in order to accompany the visit of the Regent of Asmat, Elisa Kambu with
the agenda of the inauguration of the village head. The
inauguration was delayed the next day, as the sky was overcast, the plane from
Merauke could not landing at Ewer to continue the flight to Kamur.
A
two-story house overlooking the river, a place to stay tonight, dishes always
available on the table, friendly host attitude. Similar
hospitality from the first known people cause a person no need to feel strange
in this place. Soil
conditions are better, so a variety of flowers and vegetables dapt grow well. The
runway is an outstanding facility that was originally built by a missionary and
then built permanently by paving the idea of the former airport chief by
submitting a program through the National Revenue and Expense Budget. Once
a week the airplane with the Merauke - Kamur route serves the mobility of the
passengers.
One
village in the Asmat region is always different from other villages, wifi is
available in every capital city, making it easier for individuals to communicate.
The next day,
there was the roar of the plane in the sky, we rushed out of the house to pick
up, while the others were already at the airport. After shaking hands with
regents and entourage, we accompanied the Regent of Elisa Kambu on a pilgrimage
to the grave of the late Transportation Department Head who passed away last
week. The inauguration ceremony of the head of the village went through noon in
the hall of Kamur Junior High School. After that the group raced towards Fayit
before dark.
